The Korea Investment Week 2025 (KIW 2025) was held over four days at the Conrad Seoul in Yeouido. The event brought together companies preparing for initial public offerings (IPOs), as well as startups and mid-sized companies leading future industries, to showcase their key technologies and business strategies.

On the final day of KIW 2025, September 18, Kyungmin Hwang, CEO of VPIX Medical, gave a presentation titled “Next-Generation Real-Time Tissue Examination Technology for Cancer Surgery: Digital Biopsy Platform cCeLL.”

Hwang said, “By using the cCeLL digital biopsy platform, the time required for cancer tissue examination can be significantly reduced from approximately 20 minutes to just 4–8 minutes.” The platform enables tissue removed from a patient to be imaged immediately at the surgical site. The resulting digital images can then be sent to a pathologist for diagnosis, with the results shared back with the operating room, significantly reducing the time required for the overall diagnostic process.

Hwang also emphasized the need for accurate tissue diagnosis, stating, “Cancers with a high rate of residual tumor cells after surgery are more likely to recur, which can lead to various complications and side effects.” VPIX Medical’s cCeLL technology was recognized as a Health New Technology (NET) in 2024.
